Leaving the Road
Curiosity overcame his hesitation, and he followed the horse as it stepped off the road and toward a small path leading into the trees. The quiet of the woods wrapped around him, broken only by the sound of the horse’s hooves on the dirt. The deeper they went, the more uneasy he felt.
