Mark’s dog trotted over and sniffed the mound with growing interest. Suddenly, the animal barked furiously, circling with teeth bared and tail stiff as a board.
Each bark made the ground quiver. Mark’s eyes widened as the turf rippled outward for just a moment. The dog’s instincts confirmed his fear—something was alive.
