A Signal at Last
Luis’s instinct screamed at him to try again. He raised his radio, thumb trembling, and pressed. Static, then—finally—a faint crackle, followed by a garbled human voice.
Relief surged as he whispered his coordinates, describing quickly what he’d found. “Stay put. We’re coming,” the reply came through, sharp and firm. He wasn’t abandoned.
