Helping Him Out
It took all of Daniel’s strength to haul the man toward the opening. The ropes and jagged metal caught at their clothes, but finally, they stumbled out into open air.
The man collapsed onto the ground, gasping as the fresh desert wind hit his lungs. Daniel knelt beside him, steadying him, both shaken by the bizarre situation unfolding in silence.
