Up close, its scale was staggering. The balloon dwarfed the fishing boats, looming above them like a massive dome. The men couldn’t believe it had drifted in unnoticed.
Onlookers gathered along the dock, whispering to each other. Some suggested they should cut it open right away, while others warned it could be dangerous and best left untouched.
