A Voice from the Shadows
Suddenly, Jake heard a hushed voice call from behind the boat rental shed, asking him to come over. He turned, surprised, and saw a young man standing in the shadow of the building.
The man looked to be in his mid-twenties, with alert eyes and a knowing, secretive smile. Jake obliged and stepped closer.
