The firemen ducked under the tape and entered the shed carefully. One shined a flashlight over the hanging bundle. The other took photos. They spoke quietly, taking notes.
Claire and Karen stood together at the edge of the yard, trying to read their expressions but seeing nothing certain in their faces.
