The Morning After
Sunlight crept across the yard, soft and pale. Alan stood by the shed with his coffee, listening to the birds. For months, every morning had started with noise or worry, but now there was only calm.
Diane joined him, wrapping her robe tighter. “Feels like it’s finally over,” she said.
