A rusted metal box, clearly out of place amidst the roots of the tree, it was evident that the object had been buried intentionally, years ago, perhaps even before the tree itself was planted.
The discovery sent goosebumps over Hank’s skin as he endeavored to open the tightly sealed box, his hands trembling with trepidation.
