Bald eagles are the largest birds of prey in North America, not typically seen in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, which only added to the couple’s astonishment. Their nests, known as ‘aeries,’ are among the biggest, often measuring up to eight feet across and weighing nearly a ton, frequently reused and expanded year after year. The couple were both amazed and honored to have had this raptor choose their shed to establish its next lineage.
